Who’s to Blame for Apathy?

29 11 2011

This is how it feels sometimes. Frankly, this is how it is sometimes. While I haven’t personally experienced it, I’ve heard tales of kids intentionally opting to bomb standardized tests because they didn’t like their teacher. They know that bad test scores reflect poorly on the teacher, and they don’t have to share any of the blame. Total accountability goes to the teacher, the school, and the district. No responsibility is shared with the student. There’s something wrong going on here.
