About Me

This is me, sitting on the porch at Mount Vernon Dining Hall at WVU Jackson's Mill during WV 4-H State Older Member's Conference.

This is me! I’m Aaron Devrick, often known simply as Devrick, or even more simply as ‘Dev.’ I hold a multiple-subject teaching credential, and am also authorized to teach middle school English/Language Arts and Drama. Ā I enjoy working with young people, and have over 15 years experience working with youth development programs.

I’m married to a wonderful lady named Heather, a college-level English instructor currently working for UC Merced. We have a wonderful three-year-old daughter named Cordelia, and a brand new baby girl named Penelope.

My hobbies are music, movies, and comic books. I’ve managed a record store, worked in radio as both a disk jockey and an advertising sales executive, and spent six years as a computer technician supporting both Macintosh and Windows computers. I’ve spent about half my life in my home state of West Virginia, and the other half in California, where I currently reside.

How many times a day do you use the Professor X analogy in class to your students? If my teacher brought Mr. Fantastic or Captain Atom into the classroom, I might’ve done better in Chemistry.

Your site is wonderful. Isn’t being a geek just the best? My husband and I spawned a lovely geek daughter almost six years ago and we couldn’t be prouder.
